Today DH & I decided to do a road trip
to the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum
in West Branch, Iowa...
just a hop and a skip down the road from us.
Inside the museum, I learned a lot about Hoover
that I did not know before...
like the fact that he was a mine engineer
who traveled the world managing mines
before he finally entered public service.
Also, he fed millions of people in 21 countries
after the first World War...
brokering deals between warring countries
in order to get food to the masses.
He is remembered as our country's greatest humanitarian.
My favorite exhibit in the museum
showed the White House china/dishes for several different presidents.
President Herbert Hoover and his wife Lou
are both buried on the grounds of the Library/Museum.
