After a morning of fun playing at the park,

the GDs came home and wanted to make a swing

for Pikachu so he could swing too,

so Papa took them into his woodworking shop

and together they picked out a board that would work

as a swing. Then Oma contributed some yarn

for the swing ropes

(and to tie Pikachu on).

They had soooooo much fun pushing Pikachu

and said, "Maybe the neighbors will give him a push

when they walk by too!"

Blondie is noticing the orange fungi at her feet...

7-23-2016 New Computer

DH spent the day

purchasing and setting up

our new computer today.

The old was was fried by a lightning strike

during the storms this past Wednesday.

DH, you are my hero!!!

7-22-2016 Bulbasaur 001.1 ~ 001.2 ~ 001.3

Trying to make the original 3 Pokemon monsters...

This one is eventually going to be Bulbasaur.

This first one (001.1) is done according to a pattern

but it is the wrong color (light sky blue),

sits/stands wrong,

and has the wrong color eyes

(they should be red).

The second one (version 001.2)

is still under construction (the bright aqua)

and I plan to place the legs differently

and give it red eyes.

The third one (version 001.3)

is still just a skein of yarn... 

but I think the LOVE yarn should be perfect!

Third time's a charm...right?!?!?!?

Our neighbors lost a beautiful old growth tree 

during yesterday's storms.

We lost our computer from a lightning strike

and are watching to see if any of our other appliances

start acting up.

DH and I decided to try lunch

at the new place in town

"The J Bar"

and loved the decor in the place...

spotted these Chihuly-Like glass sculptures

made by Murano (Dale Chihuli's teacher).

 The artwork was the best part of the experience...

altho the server was great,
the food was quite bland

and VERY pricey for what LITTLE you got...

we will not be returning

but it was fun to try once

because of the artwork.
