7-28-2022 ISS

Tonight DH and I watched
the International Space Station
fly overhead across the night sky...
so sad to hear that war and politics
are now affecting even the ISS.

7-26-2022 Star Link Satellites

A string of 46 newly launched StarLInk Satellites
(from Elon Musk's SpaceX)
in their low early orbits
was visible with the naked eye last night!
It was like a string of white Christmas lights
floating across the sky...
too many to get in a single photo...
breathtaking!
For those who didn't know what they were,
it must have looked like an alien invasion!

My Dear Daughter comes over to paint with me
every week or so.
This is today's abstract painting...
kind of reminds me of a butterfly...

7-15-2022 Art and Chicken Huggets

This morning we made some hand-sewn art journals
from cardboard and paper and embroidery floss...
then we went to the Figgee Art Museum
(free admission this month!)
and we each looked for different things...
J looked for dragons,
D looked for cats,
I looked for birds...
and if we found them, we would sketch them
into our art journals!
If we didn't find any dragons, cats, or birds,
we would ask,
"What did the artist use to make this art?"
and/or
"How did the artist do this?"
(click on the pictures to enlarge them)

After returning home for some of Oma's soup for lunch
the GDs began making dinner...
chicken nuggets,
smashed potatoes,
green beans,
brownies...
and when mommy came to pick them up,
we played 'restaurant'
and they served her (and Oma and Papa)
dinner that they had made.
Once they had served us,
they sat down and fed themselves. :-)
