10-28-2017 Closet Clean

Cleaned out my closet today...

took alllllllll my clothes out and put them on the bed...

vacuumed the closet floor,

washed the racks and shelves,

then tried on EVERY piece of clothing

(No photos of that process, ha, ha!)...

and put each item of clothing 

on one of four piles on the floor...

All done!

Ahh!

10-27-2017 A Chilly Day

 Was a bit nippy outdoors today in the Quad Cities

so we opted to play indoors...

Scooping ice cream cones for the kids at the Family Museum...

making a girl Frankenstein....

 making a boy Frankenstein...

and coloring this masterpiece of Russian Spires for 

and hour and a half!

My oldest GD is sooooooo excited

that she lost her first tooth today!

Just yanked it right out

all by herself!

10-24-2017 Fisherman's KEP

Now that my pink and purple shawl is finished

the needles are available to continue on with my

first Fisherman's KEP.

10-23-2017 Commingle Finished

Today I finished knitting the "Commingle" Shawl

made in my GD's favorite colors...

pink and purple.

This sweet shawl had an unusual construction

and is now off the needles

and ready to wash and block/stretch! Woo-hoo!

It will always remind me of my granddaughters!

10-22-2017 New Porch Chairs!

My sweet husband got me some new porch chairs

to replace the 40+ year old rusting metal ones!

10-21-2017 A Busy Day!

Today is my DD's birthday!

She and her girls came over to our house

and we got to spend the special day together!

First,

we decorated DD's birthday cake(s)

with some Betty Crocker glaze...

Then we hung up some Halloween decorations in Oma's trees out front...

then we went to the garden center to help Papa find some fertilizer,

and played in the bouncy castle...

sat in the big chair...

helped Oma pick out a pumpkin and squash and gourds for her front porch...

played in the corn crib...

Then we went to the Putnam Museum

and went through the NASA astronaut exhibit...

and spent most of our time in the dinosaur dig...

before heading home to have birthday cake with DD.

She also got to open a few presents...

one of which is this pair of slippers that I crocheted for her.

I hope my daughter had a happy birthday!!!

10-20-2017 Adios

Said "Adios!" to the bush at the corner of our house today.

We planted it 10 years ago.

When we pruned it this Fall we realized that it was 3/4 dead,

so we hacked it out with an axe

and hauled it to the compost center.

Now my daylilies will be able to get more sunlight!
