Addition by Subtraction

finished the I-cord this morning...

(it took 3 days!)

dropped the stitches for the 3 columns...

(it took 3 hours)

wove the I-cord into the edge...

washed the shawl...

wet-blocked and dried the shawl...

then decided to wash/block a blue scarf I'd finished recently...

and my Costa Rica shawl too,

since I was in the wash/block mood...

5-30-2018 Hurricane Alberto

When I went to kindergarten 60 years ago

we learned our ABCs and numbers.

Now-a-days, they are expected to already know them

(before kindergarten)

and they work on reading and writing!

Was going for a sunflower...

but this ended up looking nothing like the pattern.

5-28-2018 Memorial Day

Thank you to all those in the military

for their service to our country

and for all their sacrifices!

Harvested 2 large bowls of homegrown organic lettuce today!

 Had the tall cloud "looming" over the house today.

Well, I have finished clue #3 and am starting clue #4

of the "Addition by Subtraction" MKAL

but have noticed a few stitches are askew

so I will be doing some tinking (un-knitting).

DH took me out to dinner 

and the musical/play "Bingo" tonight.

Was entertaining!

5-18-2018 Zentangle

 While GD#1 was coloring on her cat

I was doodling this zentangle...

She saw what I was doing and became very interested

and wanted me to teach her how to zentangle

so I showed her the "flux" and "amaze" tangles

and she had a blast doing them:

5-17-2018 Progress on Chapter 3

...of the murder mystery KAL...

"Addition by Subtraction"

Chapter 3 clue uses mosaic knitting.

It looks like striped when you look at it straight on.

But when you look at it from an angle

you can see columns emerging.

Also, I've noticed that the first section used 4 different colors of yarn

(representing the 4 siblings in the murder mystery),

then one gets 'knocked off'

and the second section used 3 different colors of yarn,

then another sibling gets 'knocked off',

and now the third section is using 2 colors of yarn,

It will be interesting to see who is left standing at the end!

I'm LOVING this MKAL!

Each section is different and has enough going on

to keep your attention and interest.

5-16-2018 Today's Meditations

A Zentangle.

It is supposed to be a rose

but I'm a lousy artist

so I added some thorns to the stem

so you could tell it was supposed to be a rose. Ha.

Finished Clue for Chapter 2 of the Murder Mystery KAL

and have started on Clue #3.

LOVING the MKAL...

so much going on!

invited us to attend her

3 year old preschool 'graduation' program.

We loved the "5 Little Monkeys and the Alligator" Song!

and will soon be moving to Idaho.
