6-29-2017 New Chairs
DH & I have finally decided it is time for some
new kitchen chairs.
These are faux leather
and literally falling apart.
Time for something more solid and comfortable and lasting.
We've special ordered some from the Amish store
and should have them in about 12 weeks.
So excited!

6-25-2017 Church In The Woods
Lifted our spirits with
seeing deer...
...beautiful clouds in bright blue skies and 56*F temps...
...wild blackberries along the road to enjoy while hiking...
...super fragrant flowers/weeds along our path
to perfume the air...
We even saw a bluebird (of happiness)
but I didn't get a chance to photograph it!

6-13-2017 Ledger and Concrete Footings
Today we left for Chicago for a week
to spend time with the boys
and help our son build a new deck.
We will get to celebrate my birthday,
Fathers Day, and my grandson's 3rd birthday while here!
We left home with this storm chasing us all the way to Chicago...
Grandson helping Opa hold the board.
The guys wrestled all day with this 2 man post hole digger
to dig the concrete footing holes to the proper depth...
well, almost...
as deep as the rocks would let them go!
Concrete was mixed and shoveled into the tubes in the holes.
First day of work done...
ledger boards up and concrete footing poured...
worked 12 hours in 95*F temps!!!

Ran some food over to church this morning

and was surprised to find the front entrance of church
being torn up!!!
