has been torn up for over 2 years...
our street on the left...
the road to town on the right...

...so I was very excited to see some
cement trucks today!
Maybe they are finally making some progress?
Hope they can finish it before winter comes.

9-18-2017 Drywall

We finally have drywall...woo-hoo!!!
(A week and 3 days late...but still...
lucky to get any now that most of it
will be heading down south for the 
hurricane Harvey and Irma recovery efforts/rebuilding!)
The hangers are supposed to come tomorrow.

9-17-2017 Chevrons

Today I am starting to knit
a chevron baby blanket (without yarn overs!)
for my next door neighbor
who is expecting their first child!
CO multiple of 21 + 6 (168)
on size 8 needles with worsted weight yarn.
Knit 6 rows of garter stitch.
ROW 1 (RS): k3 (border sts), pm,* k2tog, k7, kfb, pm, k1, pm, 
kfb, k7, ssk, pm, * rep between * to last 3 sts, k3.
ROW 2 (WS): k3, purl across to last 3 sts (slipping all markers), k3.
Repeat ROWS 1 & 2 until blanket is desired length. 
Knit 6 rows of garter stitch, then Bind Off.

9-3-2017 Japan Charts and Cables

Day 4 of the Lace Challenge...
I had no problems with the
complicated lace chart for the lace at the bottom,
however, I could not for the life of me
follow the simple written instructions 
for the stockinette section
at the top!
