The start of my next art journal painting...

I need to do some zen painting

during these pre-election weeks!

We drove to Galesburg IL to the Blick Art Outlet

to get a few things I needed

for finishing this painting (above)

and stopped for lunch at this BBQ restaurant...

we decided our BBQ here in Iowa is better.

(ignore the brow image on the right)

I enjoyed the portrait tutorial.

The teacher used oil paints on a large masonite board...

I tried using acrylic paints in my small 7x10" art journal...

Way too much for a beginner like me...

especially with not having the 'right supplies'...

so this is where I gave up...

but I'm proud for at least trying!

9-17-2024 Beer Pairing Dinner

Last night we attended a beer pairing dinner

at a local brewery

with some friends from the gym...

5 courses...Mmmm.

Made this 'Thank You' card for the restaurant...

The colors of blue, green, purple, and brown

made me think of peacocks,

so I gave this goddess of the forest and herbs

a peacock for her bird.

I didn't have the colors of paint

that Sarah used in her tutorial

so I just used this palette from Confections...
