6-29-2020 Daylilies

My Daylilies are finally blooming

so thought I'd give it a go

and try painting one!

Other things in bloom that the GD's planted...

6-28-2020 Pergola

We decided to dismantle the pergola

and give ourselves more room on our deck.

I think it will be going on the facebook 'swap page' in a day or so.

We found we were not using it that much

and it takes up so much space on our deck!

Plus, this will be one less thing for the kids to deal with

when the time comes.

Much more open without it!!!

Today is my 3rd attempt at painting water...
this time I used Sarah Cray's tutorial
from "Let's Make Art".

 

I feel like I need to add a starfish to the lower right corner

in order to 'inform the viewer'

that this is a beach & sand & water

instead of brown mountains with a blue cloudy sky.

Hmmm....

6-20-2020 Letting Go

Letting go of things we used to use and enjoy in the past

is difficult...

knowing how much we paid for them originally...

and having fond memories of using them

in our 50's and 60's...

and that we no longer use them

as we approach 70 years of age...

sigh.

The kayaks and cross country skiis are next.

Time to clean out the garage.

Well, both bikes sold within an hour of being listed!

Plus, one of the guys bought a kayak too.

We'll keep the other for our S-I-L...

he borrows it sometimes when he and his friends

compete in the 'Taming of the Slough.'

And, it's the Summer Solstice WITH an Eclipse!

I love roses.

Roses are the birth flower for the month of June.

I've tried to grow a rose bush each place I've lived.

They've all died. Sigh.

Saw these beautiful roses at a friend's house

and thought, maybe I should give it another try.

They are so beautiful.

DH took me out for breakfast this morning

to a new local restaurant, LINKS,

to celebrate my birthday.

I splurged on my once-a-year waffle!

6-14-2020 New Laptop Computer

My 5 year old MAC Desktop

no longer functions well...

takes me 5 hours to do what I should be able to do

in 30 minutes!

So, DH & I went shopping at BEST BUY

and he got me a new computer for my birthday tomorrow!
