OhNo! after joiningthe'granny squares't each other

and attaching them to the body of the shawl

I noticed a hole!!!

One of the corners is coming undone!

Repairs took all morning.

Whew!Repairs complete!

In 2017

I crocheted this shawl (Spirits of Life) for myself...

The pattern kit said to weigh and measure

your yarn after each and every row

to make sure you don't run out!

I thought to myself,

"I don't want to have to worry about running out of yarn"

so I bought a second kit...just in case!

That un-used second kit

has been sitting in my closet for 8 years

so I decided it was time to get it out

and make it up!!! 

That way I can give one to each of my kids...

a work of art from their mom.

So...shawl #2 is underway!

A quick sketch using fountain pens

with water soluble inks...

DH and I

drove to Starved Rock State Park

for a hike in the woods

a few weeks ago...

While driving there

we passed HUGE sunflower fields!

We climbed several hundred stairs...

And finished the morning off

with lunch at HAZE Smokehouse...

which wasn't as good

as we remember it being in the past.
