Saw this beautiful color change pattern in the leaves

on this morning's walk...

 Finished knitting this blue sweater,

so plan to seam it up

at "Sit & Knit" at the LYS tomorrow night...

10-15-2014 Gingerbread Boy

Each Monday morning

GD#1 and I go to the library

to check out some books.

This week, she chose a book about the 

Gingerbread Boy...

which led to us making some Gingerbread Boys!

Ours didn't run away.

We ate them!

10-8-2014 Total Lunar Eclipse

This morning DH and I

are up early for a road trip

so we got to see the total lunar eclipse at 5:47 a.m.
I took these photos from our front porch.

Pretty awesome!!!

10-7-2014 Felted Slippers

Finished knitting and felting these slippers for DH today.

I photographed them at an angle

so they look different sizes in the picture

but they are actually the same size.

He has a hard time finding shoes and slippers to fit his wide feet,

so HE picked out some yarn he liked

and had me knit him a pair to custom fit his foot.

These little punkinheads 

seem to be multiplying!

Hmmm... someone is missing a nose!

 Oma,  pweeze, I want to mate a chotowat cate.

 Stir. stir, bate, bate...

...time to do a taste test...

...have to eat my homemade soup for lunch

before I can have some chocowate cate for dessert.

Congratulations to the QC Symphony Orchestra...

the opener for their 100th season

was fantastic!!!

10-4-2014 IL State Parks

DH and I drove to IL

to check out 4 state parks

that are near each other

to see if they have hiking trails.

Above is the view from Castle Rock Park.

Black Hawk Park

 had this huge statue

sculpted by a Chicago artist.

Cool spillway across the river.

We decided not to do any hiking

as deer season (bow hunting) just began...

not a good time to be walking about in the woods!~

I'm just saying'...

We also ran across (quite by accident)

a Fall Festival in Oregon, IL

and decided to walk through

and check out the arts and crafts for sale

in the booths around 2 city blocks.
