2-19-2018 Starting Another Challenge
Starting another challenge by designer Aroha...
the Dreamer Challenge.
Each day we knit a small swatch
using different sized yarns and needles
just to see what happens
in order to get ideas for our own designs.

2-14-2018 Mortality
And yet another reminder...
it can happen when you least expect it!
Dear God!
Please comfort those
affected by this senseless tragedy
and have mercy on the souls
of the dearly departed!

2-13-2018 Haircut
My GD's 5 year old cousin
decided to cut my GD's hair
while unsupervised. :-(
The beautician at the salon
was able to style the rest into a cute bob
while we wait for the back to grow out.

2-9-2018 First Wave Unicorn
The first wave of this winter storm
gave us about 6" of snow.
The second wave tomorrow is bringing another 6 inches.
GD decided that she needs a unicorn doll...
so she picked out the yarn...

2-7-2018 Making Spaghetti For Dinner
How a 4 year old makes dinner for her mommy.
Breaking the spaghetti in half...
and putting it on top of 1 jar of spaghetti sauce.
(You can left click on the photos to enlarge them.)
Spreading grated cheese over the browned
ground 1#chicken/1#pork/1 onion
that covers the spaghetti.
Spreading 8 oz. of cream cheese cubes
on top of the second jar of spaghetti sauce
that covers the meat and cheese.
After cooking on 'Low" for 3 hours
we stir, and add one 15 oz. can of chicken broth
and cook for another 2 hours.

1-31-2018 Super Blue Blood Moon!
Won't see another one for 150 years!
The last one was in 1866.
DH and I got to watch the entire eclipse
as the moon was setting on the western horizon
this morning!
Amazing!

1-30-2018 #5shawls5days
The #5shawls5days challenge began yesterday.
It is a KAL with designer Ahora
to help others learn shawl designs and techniques.
I did her challenge last year
and really enjoyed it and learned lots
so signed up again this year.
So, yesterday's design was triangular.
1-29-2018 She Broke the Piano!
Yesterday,
after our GD's birthday party,
we attended the QCSO Signature Series.
The audience sat on the stage in a semi-circle
around the 3 performers.
The pianist, Marta Aznavoorian,
was the most amazing pianist I've ever seen
in my entire life,
and I've seen LOTS!
She played so hard that
she broke the piano
and during intermission
the concert hall had to bring in a piano repairman
to fix the piano for the second half!
