I used a traditional Norwegian ski headband pattern

to make this custom Chicago Bears headband

for my S-I-L's birthday today.

Hope it fits and that he likes it.

Especially since they just won their division today!

12-15-2018 Making Daddy Cookies

GDs asked if they could make daddy 

some cookies for his birthday.

Oma said, "Sure! What kind?"

GD's, "Gingerbread men!"

So we/they did...

they squeezed the lemons,

they zested the lemons,

they measured the spices,

they stirred the dough with a wooden spoon,

they rolled out the dough,

they cut the cookies out with a cookie cutter,

Oma put them in the oven

and frosted them,

they decorated them

and wrapped them up in birthday wrapping paper.

What a gift of love!

Today we attended our 1st grade GD's "Holiday Music Program"

along with her mommy, daddy and little sister.

(She's in the red dress with the white sweater.)

Last night I finished knitting the navy blue liner for this headband.

Now it's time to add some duplicate stitch to the logo

and seam up the starting and finishing edges

and it is done!

Mommy's been hard at work all day

so the girls are making her nachos for dinner.

12-4-2018 Still to be Named...

After watching numerous episodes

of Snake Discovery

the GD's have been begging mommy and daddy non-stop

to get a pet...a reptile pet!

After mommy and daddy did some research

they settled on a leopard gecko

and surprised the girls 

with this cutie!

Each girl got to pick out an item 

to put in the gecko's new home

and are having fun

picking it up and playing with it.

They are not sure if it is a boy or girl

and are still trying to agree on a name.

12-3-2018 Sit and Knit...Resting the Knee

 It's cold and gray and rainy today

so I'm sitting and knitting on this Chicago Bears headband

and this world peace KAL cowl.

and giving my right leg a rest.

12-2-2018 Knee Popped

About a week ago my 4 year old GD

ran into my ankle from behind with her little green grocery cart

at the local grocery store...

here is a pix from today (a week later)

and it's healing up nicely.

However, because of all the limping I've been doing

something in my knee popped 2 days ago

and yesterday I was unable to walk at all

or put any weight on my right leg,

so DH went to Walgreens and got me some crutches.
