3-22-2020 Isolation KAL

I decided to participate in the
hosted by Arne and Carlos
as we 'stay/shelter at home' for several weeks.
https://arnecarlos.com/the-arne-carlos-quarantine-knit-along-pattern/
I finished my first patch today
using leftovers from my "Vertices Unite" baby blanket.

Also finished two more hats for the
#hat-not-hate campaign.

3-21-2020 Slipping Away

For the past 6 months
or 14 year old house cat
has been spitting up her food.
Now she has basically stopped eating
and is fading away to nothing.
I'm guessing that she will be slipping away
over the rainbow bridge in the near future.
I will miss her more that I can say.
She is my Zen master!

3-20-2020 Sleepover

GDs had a sleepover last night...
we made ATCs (Artist Trading Cards)
and did some trading, then used them at bedtime
to tell stories to each other.

GD asked me to teach her to knit.
She caught right on!

This morning, GD#1 made us pancakes from scratch
for breakfast! Yum!

3-14-2020 Hoping

I'm hoping
that this will be
the final snow for the winter!

Made some little hearts to pass out
to spread some love to people
while out and about.

3-13-2020 Orange Flags

Orange flags appeared in my back yard today.
That can mean only one thing...
someone's going to be digging.
I am hoping it is the new cable company!

3-12-2020 Metallic Sunrise

Tried some new metallic paints...
not in love with them...
won't be hanging this one on the wall
but will definitely use these paints
for some shimmery iridescence on future insect paintings!

3-11-2020 Zion Canyon Native American Flute School

Wish I was there this week!!!
Missing all the wonderful people I met last year,
especially all the instructors!!!

Wishing my teacher and spirit mom a happy belated birthday!
(March 8th)
Miss you!

Wanted one of our kids to come with us
so they would have a Native American connection
and understanding and ability to learn about and play
these amazing instruments that their dad is making...
but I'm guessing that will never ever happen
so maybe we will give them to Jonny to raffle off
to support his NAF business.

3-9-2020 Super Worm/Crow Moon

The full moon in March
is called the Worm Moon
or the Crow Moon...
based on what native cultures in the northern hemisphere
observed happening during this season.

Can you guess why they call it the worm moon?
The earthworms burrow deep below the frost line
during the cold winter months.
In March, the soil warms up enough
for the worms to work their way back to the surface...
and ending up as breakfast for the birds who migrate
back in during the spring!

It is also called the 'Crow Moon"...
can you guess why???
Watch this video taken today...
(Be sure to have your sound turned up!)
Robins and Finches aren't the only ones migrating back into the area!

Practice, Practice, Practice!!!

3-7-2020 Florals

Florals are just not my thing
when it comes to painting!
I really suck at them
and do not enjoy painting them either.
Don't know if I should paint lots and lots
more of them to get better at them,
or just move on to other things.

3-6-2020 Knit Night at the Coffee Shop

Friend starting a new project...
a granny square sweater for her daughter...
at her daughter's request.
I'm not sure if THIS is the pattern she is using,
but I think it is similar:
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/brixham-granny-cardi
Apparently Granny Squares are back in fashion
since Katie Perry was seen wearing them recently
on American Idol.

I'm starting a new project myself...
