From my travel journal...

 Swedish pancakes for breakfast 

at Al Johnson's...

...and then some amazing coffee

from the Door County Coffee company...

 ...followed by a day of exploring

the art galleries in the area and

finding some 70th birthday gifts for myself...

a collage/painting...

and a new coffee mug

sketched and collaged here in my travel journal...

...then lunch and beverage

at the Door County Distillery...

...and shopping for treasures...

at 'Off the Wheel Pottery'...

...and at the Rock and Gem shop...

I couldn't resist the Moqui...

...and another night under the stars

at the Northern Sky Outdoor Theater

watching the world premiere of

"Cheezeheads! The Musical."

And before you get all judgee...

I know that the sketch below

looks NOTHING like the people in the pix above...

they are unrecognizable for who they are...

but this is just me,

a  beginning sketcher,

practicing,

being vulnerable.

to celebrate my 70th birthday!

We stayed at the Country House in Sister Bay.

My oldest GD...making a habitat for her Manticore...

...here's a Manticore...

And my youngest GD writing cat stories...

The Grandkids are the ones who inspired me

to be creative and give art a try!

I'm so glad they did!!!

Our youngest GS has a birthday coming up soon

and his favorite character right now

is the Toad Mushroom from Mario Brothers...

...and since he is a minor character

in the Mario Brothers Game

it is difficult to find birthday decorations with him,

so my brilliant GS decided to make his own

to decorate his birthday party table!

I love the DIY...can do...mentality

that their parents have taught them.

Both their parents are such creative people too!

I love that my Grandsons' parents

help my Grandsons bring their dreams into 3D reality!

Love you all so much
