And while DH was outside working on that surprise,

Back from Chicago

and helping our son build his garden boxes...

DH started planting OUR vegetable garden today!

And it looks like it is already time

for some Rhubarb pie!!!

4-27-2013 Spring is in the Air

DH & I drove to Chicago this weekend

and helped our son put together some

small raised salsa garden beds.

 It was actually the first day

that has felt like Spring! ~Beautiful.

Grandson enjoyed being outdoors in his backyard

as long as mama was nearby.

We all went for a walk to the local dog park

and hung out there for a bit

so their 3 dogs could play.

Afterwards, we were treated to some DELICIOUS 

homemade pizza for lunch!

DH & I went to see this movie...

it was one of those movies

he had to explain to me afterwards,

but I still enjoyed it.

4-25-3013 Dedication

 Since it was 30*F outdoors this morning

DH & I decided to take our morning walk 

indoors at the mall...

and saw this young lady

out for her walk as well...

Going for a walk with 5 small children!!!

Now that's what I call dedication!

If it were me...

I'm afraid I would say to myself,

"I can' go for my morning walk...

I have 5 kids to watch!"

You go, girl.

You inspire me to be more faithful

with my walking and running

and to quit making excuses

not to do so!

Today our granddaughter

is one year old!

Happy Birthday, dear one!

Last night we had a small, quick get-together

at her house to celebrate.

and enjoying her 'birthday cake'

(I made carrot cake cupcakes)...

We are so happy

Heavy flooding

of the Mississippi and Rock Rivers

has inundated downtown

and the outlying areas

of the QC.

On top of that,

it snowed all day on Friday the 19th!

Pelicans have started migrating into our area.
