Masks were required everywhere

except outdoors poolside

and at your restaurant table

tho you were required to wear them

when entering and leaving the restaurant.

All the HRR staff wore masks around the clock.

11-27-2021. Vacation Day #8 - Saturday - Flying Home

Waiting for our transfer shuttle to the airport...

we used USA Transfer

and our driver Sosa was amazing!

In Iowa, we have deer crossing signs...

In Wisconsin and Minnesota, they have bear crossing signs...

Here they have panther/jaguar crossing signs!

I guess it makes sense since they live

in a tropical jungle!

After an hour-plus drive back to the aeropuerto...

another hour standing in security lines...

thank goodness we had all of our 'forms'

filled out ahead of time, thanks to a heads up from Nancy!

Adios, hermosa Cancun Maya Riviera...

And the Angel that accompanied us while flying...

Arrived home late Saturday night safe and sound

from our layover in Minneapolis.

This week was a lovely break from the frigid temps

here in the midwest!

Thanks for inviting us, dear family!

11-26-2021. Vacation Day #7 - Friday - Balloon Animal Gifts from Enrique

We drew a sketch of the pool concierge, Enrique...

colored it in and gave it to him.

(Forgot to take a picture of the finished dibujo)

He came back later with some balloon animals as a thank you!

(We also sketched Fatima and Sandy, our waitresses).

Pool toys...we played LOTS of catch and keep-away!

Our wrist band was also our room key

and linked all purchases in the shops to our room

so no one had to carry cash, credit cards or a room key...

quite a nice system!

Went to this lobby @ 9:10 a.m. for our rapid Covid testing

required for entrance back into the USA

for our trip home tomorrow...

11-25-2021. Vacation Day #6 - Thursday - Sunscreen and Seashore and Thanksgiving

 

88 lbs. was the weight required to do the zipline...

Aidan was 80 lbs.

...and heartbroken...

Maybe next year...

Thanksgiving Buffet Dinner and Show in "Woodstock Plaza"...

All guests entered the plaza thru the purple star

and were applauded by the gauntlet of waitstaff

and then seated by their butler...

The grandsons did some children's crafts while waiting

for things to start but passed on the face painting...

The boys successfully rescued Santa

from McNasty

with four minutes to spare...

took them 56 minutes.

The girls went to watch a singing/dancing show.
