A beautiful Summer day!

While the GDs are out with daddy at Sunderbruch Park...

DH and myself are exploring

fossils from the Devonian Period

(375 million years ago...

200 million years before the dinosaurs!)

in some bedrock exposed by recent (1993 and 2008) floods.

What an amazing day

to walk on the 375 million year old ocean floor of Iowa

that used to be south of the equator!!!

7-25-2019 JEEP Compass

DH woke up this morning

and said, "Let's go buy a new car!"

Here's what we came home with...

an orange JEEP Compass

which I absolutely LOVE!!!

It looks red in this photo

but it is actually orange IRL.

7-21-2019 John Two-Hawks NAF Workshop/Experience

After checking out of our hotel in Dubuque, IA

we headed to a local coffee shop for breakfast...

...then headed back to Sinsinawa

 for a Native American Flute workshop/experience

 with John Two-Hawks.

Amazing!!!

while he was signing autographs before classes...

 

John Two-Hawks was an amazing teacher

in regards to the history of the Native American Flute!

Loved his stories and wisdom!

Very little time was spent on actually 

learning to play the flute

and since most of the class was complete beginners

I bet they wish he had spent just a bit more time

on the "how to" portion of the class.
