After learning that the high efficiency

washing machine I purchased last year
(See July 1, 2015 post)

has been recalled (for exploding!)

DH and I went shopping this morning 

for a new washing machine.
I cannot even tell you how much
I hated this new 'high efficiency' washer
that takes over an hour and 20 minutes
to wash one load of laundry 
in 2" of water!!!
So, this time, I looked for the old fashioned kind...
simple...
that lets me choose the water level and temperature
and yes, a beloved 'agitator!'

and it turned out tho be this park.

You can understand my confusion!

The girls name each park by one of it's features...

bug park, spider park, etc.

This one is TIRE park.

Altho the game has strategies for adults,

we just dump out all the pieces

and then see if we can get them all back in again!

11-14-2016 Breakfast Baking

Today I did some breakfast baking

for our upcoming Thanksgiving get-together...

to bring my mom (her banana bread)

and my mother-in-law (her fruited coffee cake)

to the table and family gathering

since they have passed.

Hopefully the tastes and aromas

of the baked items for which they were known

will bring them to mind

to those who eat them.

...and of course,

my poppyseed  bread!

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Mark your calendars. On the night of Monday, Nov. 14, you’ll see the biggest moon in the sky in 70 years!

Supermoons aren’t all that rare. They happen when a full moon makes a close pass to earth, making it appear 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter.

But the supermoon on November 14 will be very rare.

“The full moon of November 14 is not only the closest full moon of 2016, but also the closest full moon to date in the 21st century,” NASA said in a news release.

It will also be the only supermoon of 2016 to be completely full. It’s also the closest moon to Earth since 1948, back when a gallon of gas cost just 16 cents.

“When the moon is near the horizon, it can look unnaturally large when viewed through trees, buildings, or other foreground objects,” NASA said. “The effect is an optical illusion, but that fact doesn’t take away from the experience.”

The moon won’t appear to be this big again until 2034.

While on my morning stroll around the neighborhood

I noticed this criss cross pattern in the clouds.

 Later, while at the coffee shop with my knitting buddies

I looked at the coffee cups on the table and thought, 

"Hmmmmm.... I see a sweater pattern!"

Maybe I will use these to make another

fair isle sweater and call it my

coffee shop sweater!
