11-26-2020 Happy Thanksgiving!

We didn't have a family get-together this Thanksgiving

for the very first time in my life...

thanks to Covid19...

and my fears of contracting it

from my family members

who are out in the public at work and school.

I feel guilt cancelling our Thanksgiving/Christmas celebration

because of my fears.

So when my daughter sent me these memes

I knew she understood 

and the guilt lifted.

And Santa's Elves were busy today!

11-22-2020 More Ear Protectors

I crocheted some more 'ear protectors'

for my daughter and her crew at Walgreens...

these go behind the head

and then the masks hook on to the buttons

instead of their ears.

They provide some relief to the ears

after hours of wearing the masks hooked on their ears.

They have even had customers ask them

"Where did you get those? Can we buy one?"

The most popular size:

using worsted weight yarn and a size g hook, 

chain 27,

work 1hdc into the second ch from hook,

work 1hdc in each st of the foundation chain to the next to the last ch,

in the last st of the foundation chain work 3hdc,

work 1hdc in each st back across the other side

of the foundation chain 

and on the last st, work 2hdc, 

then sl st to the top of the very first hdc.

Repeat one more time around.

FO. Tie on buttons with the yarn tails.

with 40mph/64kph winds...

I've got a start on my new shawl...

the first section is a honeycomb pattern

which is new to me...I've never done it before

so I'm enjoying the challenge and learning something new!
