10-24-2018 Full Moon Bath

What a beautiful full/hunter's moon tonight
after September's full/harvest moon!!!

Wish I had a super zoom lens for my camera/phone

so I could see the face of the moon.
Love all the jet streams from Chicago air traffic.

Time to give my crystals a much needed

clearing and energizing moonlight bath!

They get to spent the night outside under the full moon's light.

Greens are turning to rusty golds, oranges and reds.

And with each leaf that falls from the trees,

I take a deep breath and know

that a change is coming.

Winter is coming.

It is time to let go of the things that no longer serve me.

It is now time to wear some riotess splashes of color

before settling into the dull gray sweatshirts of warmth and winter.

It is time to prune the trees and bushes,

dead-head the flowers,

rake the leaves,

start filling the freezer with homemade soups.

It is time to prepare for the long winter hibernation.

It is a time of transition

It is a time of preparation.

This is the end result of the most recent

Mini-Mystery Crochet Along

in which I participated.

Not sure what to do with a

12X24" rectangle?!?!?

So, I seamed the two shorter sided together

and made it into a cowl.

10-22-2018 Bunny Salad and Kitty Cake

The GDs wanted to make some 

bunny salads (literally)...

...and a cake for my kitty...

of which I didn't get a photo.

Because my kitty eats watermelon,

and all kitties love milk and eggs from birds,

we/they made a vanilla cake from scratch

with watermelon balls inside,

cream cheese frosting on top,

sprinkled with cat nip mint!
