9-28-2023 C2C In The Round...1898 Hat...Warm-Up...

I'm trying a new (to me) crochet technique...

corner to corner...in the round!

Hope it will make a lovely baby blanket!

And, I finished another 1898 hat for donation this fall...

I also am doing a little 'warm-up' painting

for the new class I'm taking...

thses are layers one, two, and three 

(with many more to come!)...

9-25-2023 Simply B Yoga...Sound Session...

Last night, DH and DD and I attended our first sound meditation tonight...

it was amazing! Afterwards I felt like I had just had a good massage!

9-24-2023 Horzon Flute School Fall Summit...

Today at flute school we had more amazing sessions...

one of which was to make your own flute

using your hand dimensions...

making the measurements with your palm, knuckles, and fingers

like they did originally.

Each flute was tuned differently and was unique to the maker and 

and maker's hand size. Very cool.

Everywhere we went during this Fall Summit

people were making music together.

It was quite magical...

and with cathedral ceilings like this

you can imagine how amazing reverb!

What an amazing weekend! Thanks Jonny Lipford!

was my teacher most of the day today.

Wowza!!!

She was a wonderful teacher

and I cannot express enough gratitude 

for her deep patience

and enduring encouragement towards me,

and what an incredible honor it was 

to learn from her and play with her!

A wall cloud approaching the retreat center

brought withit a tornado north of us

and the tornado sirens went off.

It was Suzanne Teng's first 'tornado warning' ever!

This evening the students had a 'jam session'

and got to play for each other,

practicing what they had learned today.

Monk Michael

played the most enchanting song he had written

about maple tree seeds (helicopters) spinning to the ground!

9-22-2023 Horizon Flute School Fall Summit...

My DH and I were blessed 

to spend this weekend (Thursday-Sunday) at the

Horizons Flute School Fall Summit by Jonny Lipford

at the beautiful Prairiewoods Retreat Center

to take classes from 

some of the world's best award-winning flutists,

and meet and play with them and the other students!

Insect Art...

We took our shoes off

and walked the sand-filled labyrinth...

And almost stepped on a walking stick!

Achew!!! (Goldenrod is in full bloom!)

was taught by Jonny Lipford and Jon Norris...

how to play duets...

different techniques...

and body language to communicate.
