This wild prairie rose

is the Iowa State Flower.

This particular wild prairie rose bush

at our church is over one hundred years old!

It was donated over 30 years ago

by a member who had it on his family farm

for over 100 years.

to use up all the yarn in both skeins!

Today DH & I drove to Dubuque IA

and Marion IA

to walk through their ART SHOWS.

It was a perfect spring day to be out and about!

the final day of preschool program

for our granddaughter.

It has been wonderful to see her blossom

Today is the final Sunday of our church choirs season

and all four of the choirs sang at all of this mornings

worship services.

Our wonderful and amazing organist and accompanist

fixed us a brunch so we could eat between services!

Then, while blondie was napping,

big sister made her mommy a potholder

for a Mother's Day gift 

"because I'm 4 now and I can do hard things."

We have not seen any blue sky

for several week now,

so it was awesome to get a break 

from the spring rains we've had

for the past several weeks!

It gave us a chance to get out in the garden

and plant the rest of our herbs, tomatoes and peppers!
