12-5-2023 4_El Catrin...Outdoor Lights...Current Read (DnD Handbook)...

Our son and grandsons

built some outdoor Christmas Trees

to light their yard

after seeing ours.

I'm so excited that they liked ours enough

to make some for their home too!

The granddaughters helped us make ours 6 years ago.

We were the first ones in our neighborhood to have these.

Now there are over 20 homes in our neighborhood

that have them as well...

who knew we would be 'trendsetters' ?!?!?

From 6 years ago...

It is lovely having some extra light(s)

during the longest, darkest nights of the year!

The Winter Solstice is just weeks away

and then we can celebrate longer days.

And my current read...

so I can play with the grands...

A painting (and 'poem') for my neighbor...

"As I stand at my kitchen sink

washing the supper dishes

during the longest, darkest

nights of the year

I see your lighted trees

in the distance

and smile

because I feel

blessed by them as a

reminder that

there is always light

in the dark times

and you are my

light bringers!

~A grateful neighbor_

Thank you for your gift of lights!"

DH and I attended

the QCSymphony Orchestra's performance

yesterday afternoon...

it was spectacular, as usual.

This pre-performance photo

does not show the standing-room-only crowd

that arrived later.

I found a couple of cute things...

one for my daughter's birthday!

in my cookbook art journal...

the 3rd card in my hand-sketched Loteria deck of cards...
